EVANESCENCE Begin Work On New Material
June 11, 2004EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee has told Billboard.com that the writing process for the group's sophomore album is going well. "I've had the chance to really write [this year]," she said. "I bought a house — I'd been homeless forever. I've been playing my piano in the middle of the night, whenever, lighting candles and writing. It's so gratifying. I just feel complete again.
"The songs aren't ready yet," she continued. "They're all little skeletons of songs and structures. I don't want to blow the secret before they've had time to grow."
EVANESCENCE's major-label debut, "Fallen", has sold 5.3 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, and more than 11 million copies worldwide, according to the band's label, Wind-Up Records. The band kick off a North American tour July 7 in Vancouver and wrap it up on Aug. 15 in Little Rock, Ark. Support at all dates will come from SEETHER and THREE DAYS GRACE.
